| Cobra Starship
Though an American band ‘Cobra Starship’ is not the most famous group, it is precisely one of the most positive, extraordinary, and spectacular “alternative” teams of dance and punk-rock styles. All those, who were at their concerts at least once, admit an unusual positive energy, coming from the musicians’ works, their desire to cheer the public and to help them to forget about routine troubles for a while, and to fling themselves into the new wave music.
The band is rather young by the world music industry standards. The initiator was the group’s vocalist Midtown from New Jersey, who is still a vocalist of Cobra Starship.
In 2006, the guys recorded their first album While the City Sleeps, We Rule the Streets and became first popular due to the single “Bring It (Snakes on a Plane)”, which became a soundtrack for the film Snakes on a Plane by Adam Greenberg. In a year, Cobra Starship recorded the second album titled ¡Viva La Cobra! and the listeners liked several songs from this album. The band followed up the success with a single “Guilty Pleasure” that made the group more popular. Cobra Starship performs some songs in Spanish also.
It should be noted that the guys’ music direction is an unusual combination of popular and alternative styles. They are popular with both pop and rock stage. Many fans believe that their performance and image are unique. Currently, nothing is heard from Cobra Starship but it does not mean that the group is going to disband. It is entirely possible that soon we will listen to the guys’ new songs and watch their performances full of a positive energy.
