The Danish band Alphabeat, which pleases fans with its quality, popular, revival style oriented music, made headlines for the first time in 2007. At that time, its song titled “Fascination” - the first single recorded by the members of the band – became a real super hit at home and conquered the UK charts the next year.
Many record companies saw a great potential in a novice music band, and the members of the band started to receive rather tempting offers. Finally, Alphabeat decided to tie up a contract with Charisma Records, and after the first single, released in Britain, many music publications began to write about the band, noting an extraordinary talent of the members, peculiar style and the ability to please the audience of any taste and age.
The second single of the young band, titled “10.000 Nights of Thunder”, repeated the success of the first one. It became known throughout Denmark and among the pop music fans in Britain and other European countries. The third studio recording, titled “Boyfriend”, won the hearts of Englishmen, giving an impulse to further band promoting.
In 2008, without wasting the time, the band recorded its debut album Alphabeat, which was sold like hot cakes and became platinum in Denmark. In the same year, Alphabeat appeared in several concerts together with a popular American pop singer Katy Perry. After that a few more pop stars expressed a desire to appear before the footlights together with Alphabeat. It was natural, considering that earlier Alphabeat refused to play as a warm-up for a world known Spice Girls, motivating this fact by their unreadyness to such a huge event and some concerns about appearing before a large unfamiliar audience.
Young musicians’ concerns can be understood, and the majority of music critics sincerely believe that the band’s hour of triumph is still ahead. From 2007 to 2010, the members of Alphabeat recorded and released five more albums, including versions, and although their success was still considered local, it was very difficult to disagree with critics. A perspective Danish band, whose works are compared to a legendary group ABBA, does not plan to give up quickly, barely made the first steps towards the fame. Many music experts and numerous fans of this young active band believe that an individual style and vivid manner of execution will certainly bring the Danes success.
