Britney Spears

If there was a statistics of the world show business stars, who are the most paparazzi-pursued, Britney would definitely take one of the leading positions in this list. The world popularity came to Britney when she was a teenager. This was preceded by little Spears’ participation in various local musical performances, chorus singing, and participation in a widely known American TV-program «The Mickey Mouse Club». A great talent of the future star was obvious and found its way to producers. Moreover, Spears showed herself not only as a singer but as a dancer. Britney became known to the whole world when she was 17 – upon the release of a song «Baby One More Time» (1998) the popularity just fell in her. On the first day of the single’s release half a million copies were sold and later, it earned Britney the most prestigious Grammy Award. In 1999, she released her debut album Baby One More Time, which immediately occupied the tops of musical charts in USA and Europe and brought Britney a striking popularity and, hence, a substantial profit. Spears started her first tour in support of her debut album. Namely this album, eventually, was named the most successful for the whole career of Britney Spears by music critics. By the time of the second album release, Britney had already become a teen idol throughout the world. Her second album and self-titled single «Oops!… I Did It Again», released in 2000, also turned to be commercially successful, and Britney Spears continued conquering peaks of world musical Olympus. The number of admirers of the young American girl’s talent was consistently growing. Britney became a real pop-icon.

Following the successful way to the tops of the world show business, Britney released her third album Britney in 2001. Critics noted that Britney showed herself a sexual, attractive grown up girl. The most famous songs from this album were «I'm a Slave 4 U», «Overprotected», «I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman», and «I Love Rock 'n' Roll».

By this time, Britney had already become a superstar. She took part in advertising campaigns (Pepsi), tried to start up a business and kept on singing. Her fourth album In the Zone (2003), despite critics’ controversial viewpoints, was popular with Britney’s fans. The brightest tracks were «Me Against the Music» (duet with Madonna), «Toxic» (Grammy Award), «Everytime», and «Outrageous». Britney decided to stop the active musical work for some period of time and devoted herself to her family. After she recovered from private and health problems, Spears released an album Blackout in 2007. Profitable singles from this album were «Gimme More», «Piece of Me», and «Break the Ice». Critics also looked with favour on her sixth album – Circus (2008). The most successful track from this album was «Womanizer». This song was first on Billboard Hot 100 and earned the singer a Grammy Award.

Fans were looking forward to releasing Britney’s seventh album Femme Fatale (2011). Music critics called it one of the best albums in the career of Britney Spears. Singles «Till the World Ends» and «Hold it Against Me» have been released already. The single «Big Fat Bass» (featuring Will.I.Am) will be the next.
