Diddy - Dirty Money is a new American band, which is loved by the fans of club parties for light but rather qualitative and interesting works of, mainly,Drum'n'Bass style. The group began to work in 2009 and signed a contract with Bad Boy Records company. One of the co-founders of this company is a rather known rapper and one of the most influential music producer P.Diddy ( former Puff Diddy) and a member of Diddy - Dirty Money at the same time. His company is wide-known for searching and presenting young talents to the world, and it is small wonder that the members of Diddy – Dirty Money were among them.
The group released the first album Last Train to Paris shortly after its formation in December 2010. Diddy became one of its producers. Last train to Paris was his fifth studio album. The album's release followed after a few singles, such as ”Hello Good Morning”, “Angel”, “Loving You No More” and was on Billboard 100 “Coming Home”. All these singles won some public recognition. The success of the album, released on the 14th of December 2010, exceeded Diddy's expectations, first peaking at number 7 on Billboard 200. In total, the album consisted of 16 songs, connected by a general concept, and sold over 100 thousand copies.
Telling about the name of the band, which besides Diddy himself, included Dawn Richards and Kalenna Harper, the musician denied in his interview that the phrase 'dirty money' related to profits from illegal sales of drugs, weapons or something else. He stated that it was referred just to a lifestyle, way of thinking, and some symbolism. He emphasized that Diddy - Dirty Money became a good chance for him to develop his artistic talents, and the musician tried to make the young band original, unique, and memorable.
It is early to evaluate Diddy's advances as the first results are seldom indicative. But, taking into consideration the producer and musician's experience and the fact that Diddy - Dirty Money has already stood out from other bands, and it has become popular in Europe and USA, one may suggest that the group has a future. At least, it is for sure that Diddy will apply maximal efforts not to give Diddy - Dirty Money to fall into oblivion. And millions of his fans will support their idol's new ideas.
