Jason Derulo
American pop and R&B singer and songwriter Jason Joel Desrouleaux (Derulo) showed interest for music in his early childhood. He was determined to become a performer but started from writing songs for more famous singers. Among his clients are singers like Diddy, Donnie Klang, Cassie and Lil Wayne. On gaining experience in composing (as well as in performing and dancing) the young man signed a contract with minor recording label Beluga Heights which later became a part of the Warner Music Group.
The debut single of Jason Derulo called «Whatcha Say» was released in 2009 and made him an international star. The single was followed by a self-titled debut album. Alongside with mentioned «Whatcha Say», which topped the charts, Derulo managed to get another single «In My Head», being very popular with overseas listeners in England and Australia, to the top ten. Other singles «Riding’ Solo», «What If», «Sky’s the Limit» didn’t reach the same popularity, but made many performers acknowledge the young singer as a serious competitor. Critics were not so enthusiastic about the album, though. For his debut Derulo was nominated for MTV Music, but he didn’t win.
Second album «Future History» was released in 2011. As in case with his debut album, before the release Jason Derulo presented single «Don’t Wanna Go Home» which quickly became popular in English charts. According to the singer, he tried to put together experience and impressions he gathered for two years and a new album became his greatest achievement at the moment. «Future History» yielded singles «It Girl», «Breathing» and «Fight For You». Despite hard work put by the singer the album is less popular than the first one. However, Jason Derulo stays optimistic and is planning European tours.
