Jennifer was born in a modest Puerto Rican family and spent her childhood in the Bronx, one of the poorest parts of New York. To avoid a negative influence of the rough district on their daughter, parents sent her to a dance studio. At the age of five Jen started dancing and doing gymnastics, and later, singing. When she was 18, Jennifer decided to bring into life her dream of being an actress. Her debut album On the 6 was released in 1999. Jennifer’s musical debut turned to be very successful. The album was sold out and Jennifer earned several important music awards (for example, Billboard Music Awards in The Best Video Clip nomination for the song «If You Had My Love»). The most popular tracks of this album were «If You Had My Love», «Let's Get Loud», «Waiting for Tonight», and «No me ames» (duet with Marc Anthony). The second album of the hot beautiful woman, titled J.Lo., was released in 2001. This album is regarded as one of the most successful in the singer’s career. It topped many prestigious charts and a track «Love Don’t Cost a Thing» is considered to be the best single of the album. Singles «Play» and «I’m Real» featuring a famous rapper Ja Rule were also popular with listeners. Jennifer Lopez released her third album This Is Me… Then in 2002. The album was in the list of the most popular albums of USA during 40 weeks. The most popular tracks were «Jenny from the Block», «I’m Glad», «All I Have» (featuring LL Cool J). The next album, titled Rebirth (2005), was not a great commercial success. Fans liked singles «Get Right» and «Hold me down» but the album’s sales were very poor. Como ama una mujer (2007) was the first Spanish language album of Jennifer Lopez. As opposed to the previous album, this one was very successful for the singer. The song «Que Hiciste?» became the first single of this album. In 2007, Lopez released her next English language CD titled Brave. In this album Jennifer got back to the musical direction that she started her work with - R&B. The most popular singles were «Hold It Don’t Drop It» and «Do It Well». Jennifer Lopez’s seventh album is titled Love? Its release is slated for May 2011. Several tracks have already gained favour with the audience, namely the song «On the Floor» – a modern version of the popular hit «Lambada» featuring Pitbull and «I'm Into You» recorded with the popular rapper Lil Wayne.
