Luis Miguel is known among the habitants of Latin America and music fans of Latin American songs as one of the most prominent and respected representatives of the Latin American stage. Miguel became popular being a teenager when he, following in his father’s footsteps, decided to devote himself to the music. At the age of 15, after he became a winner of the famous song festival in San Remo, Luis Miguel released his fourth (the first remarkable) album. He received his first Grammy when performed the song “Me Gustas Tal Como Eres” in a duet with the Scotch singer Sheena Easton. No need to say, Luis Miguel became one of the youngest winners of Grammy in the history of this prestigious award. His talent and advances, surely, were not gone unnoticed.
In 1987, 17-year-old Luis Miguel recorded his fifth album entitled Soy Como Quiero Ser. This work became eight times golden and was certified five times as platinum. Later on, Miguel decided to launch an independent career, went out of his father-musician’s wing, and embarked on “a non-escorted transit”. Three years later, in 1990, Luis released his sixth album 20 Años, which was accompanied by an enormous success. Several songs from this album listed among hundred best songs of Mexico. A year later, the young singer became a nominee again and then he earned a Grammy for The Best Latin American Pop-Album with his next studio work titled Aries.
In 1994, 24-year-old Luis Miguel sang in a duet with Frank Sinatra, released his next CD, and earned his third Grammy for The Best Male Performance in the category of the Latin American music.
The young singer’s faerie career gathered steam during all following years. He received the most prestigious Latin American and international awards and performed with the most outstanding and popular pop-artists. His albums and singles topped hit parades of Latin America and his popularity gradually spread far beyond Mexico. He also went on tours and recorded new CDs and all of them earned the singer good profits and prestigious awards.
Presently, 40-year-old Luis Miguel, who won the hearts of millions of music fans by his wonderful vocal and perfect sounding of romantic Latin American ballads, is one the most successful singers of the world. He is the only Latin American singer, who was among 50 most successful recording artists of all the countries and continents in 2009. During his long career, Luis Miguel released thirty albums, starred in six films and received 22 awards. Among other things, he was certified twice as The Best Selling American Artist that earned him a World Music Award.
