Timbaland is an American producer, songwriter, and rapper. Since his school time Timbaland was interested in hip-hop and recorded his first tracks. Being a teenager, Timbaland was captured by the attention of the production ensemble S.B.I. But their collaboration was not long-term as in 1986 he was shot and partially paralyzed. But he continued to learn how to deejay using his left hand. After recovering, Timbaland began working with Missy Elliott and left for New York. He produced works of various R&B singers till the middle of the 90s. In 1997, he was a producer of Missy Elliott’s debut album Supa Dupa Fly. In the same year, Timbaland released his first hip-hop album titled Welcome to Our World featuring his old partner Magoo. In the beginning of the 2000s, he became popular and respected among many famous hip-hop and R&B singers. He aided in creating songs for such stars as Ludacris («Roll Out (My Business)») and Jay-Z («Hola' Hovito»). Also, Timbaland actively worked with a tragically died singer Aaliyah, producing and recording songs for her. Timbaland and Magoo’s second album, titled Indecent Proposal, was released in 2001.
Gaining a character of a successful producer, Timbaland continued to work with world stars. He worked at Justin Timberlake’s debut album titled Justified, including the super-hit «Cry Me a River», and produced songs for Jay-Z, LL Cool J, Brandy, and Jennifer Lopez. In 2006, Timbaland launched his own label called Mosley Music Group. That year Timbaland worked at creation of Justin Timberlake’s second solo album as a producer and vocalist in such tracks as «SexyBack», «Sexy Ladies», «Chop Me Up», and «What Goes Around.../...Comes Around». Almost all songs, created with the help of Timbaland, became hits. They were a single «Wait a Minute» of Pussycat Dolls and Nelly Furtado’s «Promiscuous». In 2007, Timbaland released an album Timbaland Presents Shock Value, which was created jointly with such invited stars as Justin Timberlake, Keri Hilson, Nelly Furtado, Missy Elliott, Elton John, and Nicole Scherzinger.
In 2008, Timbaland produced such recording artists as Madonna, Keri Hilson, Flo Rida, Nicole Scherzinger, Missy Elliot, Pussycat Dolls, and Busta Rhymes. Timbaland was a producer of the song «Believe», which Dima Bilan sang in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008 and was first. In 2009, Timbaland released his third solo album titled Shock Value II. Its title single was «Morning After Dark» featuring Nelly Furtado and the singer SoShy. The next singles were «Say Something» (featuring the rapper Drake), the most successful single of the album «Carry out» (with Justin Timberlake), and «If We Ever Meet Again» featuring Katy Perri. Timbaland kept on working with various singers: Marie Carey, Missy Elliott, Shakira, and Beyonce. In the end of 2010, Timbaland stated that following the example of other artists, he would release one song every week on Thursday, for an instance, and give it the title «Timbo Thursday».
