Camila - Mexican trio Camila is comprised of the previously unknown Samo(voice), Pablo Hurtado(guitar), and industry mainstay Mario Domm(piano, voice, composer, and producer). Domm, having started his songwriting career nearly 15 years before.
Camila is a soft rock group formed in 2005 which reached success in their home country and all over Latin America upon the release of their debut album “Todo Cambio”. The hit single from that record, «Abrazame», has consistently made waves on Billboard's Latin charts. The group's takeoff was so rapid that the aforementioned single was radio-ready before the bandmembers had even selected a name for themselves. The group’s name came from a friend’s idea of calling the group “Camila” because it means “close to God”. The record was subsequently nominated for Premio lo Nuestro's Revelation of the Year award. Camila have since toured exhaustively throughout Latin America and the States.
In 2010 Camila, captured the award for song and record of the year with “Mientes” at the 11th annual Latin Grammy Awards. Camila also won best pop album for “Dejarte de Amar”, the record that yielded «Mientes».
