Rick Ross
Rick Ross (a real name is Williams Roberts) is a native of Florida, who was born in the distant 1977. He spent his childhood on the shore of Miami among the fans of rap music. In the middle 90s, the young man had already formed his band, the works of which were popular in his home country.
The singer gained a real popularity only at the beginning of the new millennium due to a numerous concerts, which he gave together with Trick Daddy. At that time, he captured the attention of a music label Slip-N-Slide, releases of which often mentioned the stage name Rick Ross. However, he released his debut album only in 2006, and the expectations brought their results.
William Roberts sparked the interest of the largest record companies of USA in his hit “Hustlin”, which became popular not only in America but worldwide. And soon, he began to receive letters and rather interesting proposals. Finally, the contract was signed with Def Jam/Slip-N-Slide company. In the same 2006, the musician released his first album Port of Miami, which was announced golden in advance. But the reality surpassed all expectations and, on the base of the sales’ results, the album was certified as platinum. The singer reached the hip-hop chart of USA and Billboard Hot 100.
Presently, Rick Ross is married and has a daughter. He claims that his creative activity was largely influenced by The Notorious B.I.G and 2pac – they and some other famous artists became for him a striking example of what the success can be achieved, having a talent and working hard. Now he competes with such a famous singer as 50 Cent that is on the lips of musicians and fans of rap music.
