Keri Hilson
Keri Hilson is an American R&B singer and songwriter. At the age of 12 Keri took the lessons of piano playing and singing, spending more time on singing than playing. Janet Jackson’s creative work influenced the artist. Keri started her way to career with songwriting for other singers in 2001. She wrote for Usher, Ludacris, Kelly Rowland, Ciara, the Pussycat Dolls, and Britney Spears. Many of songs written by Keri, where she often appeared as a backing vocalist, became hits. Till 2004, Keri lived in the shadow. She made her first step to the big stage at MTV Europe Music Awards in 2004 when Keri sang her own song «Hey Now (Mean Muggin)» with the rapper Xzibit. In 2006, Keri started working with the famous producer Timbaland and recorded several tracks with him. The most popular songs were «Scream» and «The Way I Are» (duet with Timbaland), «Take Me as I Am» (wtitten for Mary J. Blige), «Ice Box» (Omarion), «Wait a Minute» (the Pussycat Dolls), and «Like a Boy» (Ciara). Keri aid in recording of Britney Spears’ album «Blackout» as a songwriter and backing vocalist. In 2008, Keri appeared in several videos, such as «Party People» (duet Nelly and Fergie), «Love in This Club» (Usher and Young Jeezy), and «Miss Independent» (Ne-Yo). Keri Hilson’s debut album In a Perfect World was released in 2009. Timbaland was one of its producers. The album was rather successful and received positive comments of critics. The title single of the album was «Energy», then Keri released singles «Return the Favor» (featuring c), «Turnin Me On» (featuring Lil Wayne), and «Knock You Down» (with Kanye West and Ne-Yo). The last one is currently regarded as the most successful single in Keri Hilson’s career. It was nominated for Grammy. The second album No Boys Allowed was released in the end of 2010. Its title single was «Breaking Point» and produced by Timbaland. The second track was «Pretty Girl Rock». The duet with Chris Brown «One Night Stand» became the third single of the album.
